Cohen & Cohen Law Employees Celebrate 10-Year Anniversary

HOLLYWOOD, Florida—Personal injury law firm Cohen & Cohen Law is celebrating the 10-year anniversaries of three invaluable employees. Milenis “Mily” Silva, Marie Nerestant, and Samantha Smith were recognized for their profound commitment to helping clients.

Originally from Peru, Mily worked there as a secretary before relocating to Spain for a few years, then permanently moving to the United States. She feels blessed and grateful to live in the U.S. As Cohen & Cohen Law’s Intake Coordinator, Mily ensures that every new client feels welcomed from their first interaction with the firm. “My job is to open the files for new clients, translate, and assist the reception,” she says. “I love my job, all my coworkers, and the heart and purpose of the firm that I work for. I am married and have one amazing and loving sixteen-year-old daughter. My favorite food is Peruvian and Thai food. My passion is to learn about other cultures, going to the movie theater, watching a good movie at home and baking for my many relatives and me. I love to travel wherever and whenever I can. My dream is to visit other countries.”

A paralegal since 2008, Marie studied at Broward College and Valencia College. For over a decade, she has provided steadfast support to the attorneys at Cohen & Cohen Law. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Marie lived in Rhode Island before settling in South Florida. As a woman of Haitian descent who parents three beautiful children with her husband, she finds great pleasure in exploring different cultures to better understand each client’s unique situation. Marie notes, “It gives me great pleasure to sit down and read a book. If I could travel the world I would do so since I love exploring different cultures.”

Jacksonville, Florida native Samantha moved to Miami when she was in the fourth grade. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies from Nova Southeastern University in 2002. As Cohen & Cohen Law’s Litigation Paralegal, she keeps clients’ cases moving with positivity. This mother of four says, “Life is too short to be serious all the time!” Samantha’s favorite foods are salmon and broccoli. In her rare spare time, she enjoys cycling, going to the gym, watching the sunrise, and sitting outdoors enjoying nature. Samantha’s favorite place to visit is on Florida’s West Coast in the Naples and Sanibel Island areas, and her dream vacation would be an all expense paid trip to an all-inclusive resort in Hawaii.
