Details of the Accident
Our client was asked by a neighbor to help clean the gutters at his neighbor’s house. He asked the neighbor to hold the ladder while he was on it to make sure that it was secured in place. Unfortunately, as he was on the ladder, the neighbor was not paying attention and the ladder slipped out from under him, causing him to fall to the ground. He fractured his ankle in 3 places, requiring surgery with screws and plates.
The Winning Verdict
Another firm dropped the case because the homeowner’s insurance company denied liability. We signed up the case and settled it for the Policy Limits of $300,000.00.
Cohen & Cohen won this premises liability case, awarding the client a settlement of $300,000.
